Whew, what a summer it has been.
Levi climbed Denali.
I graduated.
I took my boards.
We packed for Seattle.
We climbed Rainier.
We drove to KY with a stopover in Utah.
Now we have been here for two weeks and have made some major headway on the house. My job is fantastic and I think Levi is enjoying his job. I think he will enjoy it a lot more once the demolition is over.
But.... before we get ahead of ourselves I wanted to post all the before pics to this blog (they were previously posted on my personal blog. ) Then in the next post I'll show some of the amazing (and gross) things we have discovered as we slowly peel back the layers.

The day we closed! |

Our house. Note the white panels where the front door used to be. |
Front left living room. |
Looking from the living room into the dining room. Note the pocket doors. |
Living room , this wall on the left is a later addition that will come out. The walkway leads into the first floor kitchen. |
First floor kitchen. |
Front right bedroom, former foyer. See those shelves in the closet? That is the former doorway from the foyer into the living room. The door molding is still in place in that closet!! |
Yellow bedroom, future library |
Stairs, awkwardly boxed off by walls so the first and second floors could be separate apartments. |
Upstairs living room. My favorite room! We are keeping that mantel and the floors. |
Looking from the living room into our future master bedroom . |
Guest room connects to the sunporch. |

Upstairs sunporch. |
Cool tall skinny doors! |

Upstairs kitchen, future master bedroom. |
Upstairs second bath. Gross. |

Attic. |

Backyard.
We have a lot of work to do! We plan to restore this house to a single family home. We will be ripping out all the plaster and drywall, reframing the house, re-insulating, and completely redoing the plumbing and electricity. The house has a slate roof which need minor repairs. There is a small amount of leveling which will be done to strengthen the structure of the house. We are excited to get to work! Clearly I know very little about these things but Levi is teaching me how to swing an axe....
